About Last Night or Brian and Alyssa's Wedding

Last night, we at Smiling Dog Entertainment had the honor of bringing fun, smiles, laughter, and love to Brian and Alyssa's wedding reception with one of our enclosed photo booths.

The reception was held at The Celebration Farm  in Iowa City, a beautiful venue that we've had the pleasure of working at before.  When we arrived we spoke with Amy, who directed us to the location of our setup and made sure we had everything we needed.  Amy checked in with us a couple times during the evening to see how things were going and even made sure we had gotten dinner.

While setting up the photo booth we had the chance to meet the DJ - Timothy Eastman - of QC Music Man Wedding DJ & Event Services.  Timothy took the time to stop over at the booth to introduce himself, confirm the times for the photo booth, and to share with us that out of all the wedding photo booths he'd seen we had the best selection of props he'd ever seen.  He said most of the photo booths he's seen have a little table with props - not a 3-sided six foot tall gridwall tower filled with them like we do!

Timothy did a great job keeping the guests entertained with the music and his announcements.  He kept the reception flowing smoothly, was great at managing all the details, and was out interacting with the newlyweds and rest of the guests.

At the end of the Anniversary dance  he made it a point to highlight and celebrate that the last couple on the dance floor had been married for 55 years.

The dinner, a buffet of rolls, salad, cheesy potatoes (my wife Susan's favorite!), green beens, roast beef, and pork roast provided by Ruzicka's Catering of Solon, IA, was delicious!  The staff was great - constantly refreshing the food so no one had to wait, interacting with guests and with us as walked through the kitchen with our equipment.

Capturing all of the memories of their special day for Brian and Alyssa was photographer Meghan Whitlock of Simply Sweet Shutters Photography.Meghan could be seen everywhere capturing all of the important moments of the evening including some of those taking place inside our enclosed photo booth!  While not photographing the going-on's Meghan even took time to have her photos taken inside the photo booth!

In addition to Meghan it seems most everyone else at the reception took a turn in our  enclosed photo booth throughout the night.  Brian and Alyssa had a large window sign made encouraging guests to "grab a prop and strike a pose" and leave a copy of their photo strip and a message in their memory album guest book.

By the end of the night the guest book was full of fun images and heartfelt notes for the newlyweds.

From young to old we saw lots of smiles and heard much laughter from inside the booth.  We also saw lots of fun and unique combinations of props worn into the booth.

All in all it was a great night celebrating the wedding of Brian and Alyssa with a great group of vendors working together to bring fun, smiles, laughter, and love to they and their guests on their special day.

Congratulations Brian and Alyssa!
